Environmental Journal: Flint activists exposed lies behind water crisis

As more and more residents started complaining about the water in Flint, a city of 100,000 people about 70 miles northwest of Detroit, Guyette started reporting there.
A year ago, he helped produce a video on the residents’ fight to convince the government that something had gone horribly wrong. Guyette showed that mini-documentary on Friday when he spoke at the University of Rhode Island as part of the annual lecture series put on by the Metcalf Institute for Marine & Environmental Reporting.
“It’s amazing to be talking about this now, because no one was talking about Flint when we released this video,” he said.
