WPRI to host first televised gubernatorial debate at URI, June 10

June 7, 2010 — WPRI 12 will present the airing of the first Gubernatorial Debate of Campaign 2010 at the University of Rhode Island, Robert E. Will Theatre, Fine Arts Center, Kingston Campus on Thursday, June 10 from 7 pm to 8 pm.


Anchored by Eyewitness News Anchor Karen Adams and moderated by Target 12 Investigator Tim White, the debate is free and open to the public.


Former State Party Chair Ken Block, General Treasurer Frank Caprio, former US Senator Lincoln Chafee, Attorney General Patrick Lynch, former State Representative Victor Moffitt, and former Gubernatorial aide John Robitaille will debate on a variety of issues, including the economy, health care, and education. Eyewitness News will broadcast Campaign 2010: The Gubernatorial Debate on WPRI 12 and simulcast from the Will Theatre at wpri.com.


After the televised portion of the debate, there will be thirty minutes of additional live coverage on wpri.com. During this half hour, candidates will answer questions previously submitted by viewers. Starting today, June 7, viewers can submit their questions on wpri.com.
