Women’s Hockey team to host Holiday Skate, Dec. 11

Santa takes to the ice at URI


KINGSTON, R.I. – December 5, 2005 – Santa and his elves will return for a spin at the University of Rhode Island’s Boss Ice Arena and members of the community are welcome to join in on the ice.


Members of the University’s Women’s Hockey Team will be there to help skaters of all ages glide along with ease. The festivities will be held on Sunday, Dec. 11, from 12 to 2 p.m.


The $7 cost for each child includes hot chocolate and cookies, a visit with Santa, holiday goodie bag, and free skating at the arena from 1 to 2 p.m. Helmets are required and rentals are available. Cost is $3 per adult.


Kids will also be able to meet and skate with members of the top-ranked women’s hockey club. Proceeds from the event will go to support the women’s team compete at club hockey games throughout the year.
