URI’s Supply Chain Management Program honored as one of best in country

KINGSTON, R.I., Feb. 19, 2013 – The Supply Chain Management Program at the University of Rhode Island’s College of Business Administration has been named one of the best programs in the country by two different industry groups.

Camcode, a supply chain technology company, ranked the URI program among the top 25 supply chain management programs that have been approved by the Institute of Supply Management. The Institute is the primary U.S-based industry association granting approvals to supply management degree programs. http://www.camcode.com/asset-tags/top-supply-chain-management-degrees/

The American Society of Transportation and Logistics (ASTL), the premier professional organization for transportation and logistics professionals, included URI’s program among a select group of 28 academic programs in the nation. That honor means URI supply chain majors automatically receive the Society’s highly esteemed Certification in Transportation and Logistics upon graduation. http://www.astl.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=3322

“One of the main reasons for our recognition is we are one of only 28 U.S. and Canadian universities and maritime institutes that have programs certified by ASTL and this has given us national and international recognition,” said Business Associate Professor Douglas Hales. “University programs with this certification are the most rigorous in academia.”
