URI’s Feinstein Providence Campus hosting open house for Multimedia Certificate Program

KINGSTON, R.I. – June 3, 2010 – Individuals looking to gain an edge using multimedia software in their businesses are invited to an open house at the University of Rhode Island’s Feinstein Providence Campus to learn about two multimedia certificate programs offered this summer.

The Office of Special Program and Graduate Professional Center at the Feinstein Providence Campus is hosting the open house Thursday, June 17 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 333.

“The open house gives people a chance to come in, talk to us and find out what we have to offer,” said John O’Leary, director for the Office of Special Programs and Graduate Professional Center. “These programs are ideal for those individuals who are comfortable with using technology at the professional level.”

The first summer program is an introductory print media and web design certification program that provides technical instruction in the multimedia professions, including entertainment, publishing, education, marketing, corporate communication and more. There also is an advanced certificate program for individuals looking to refine and develop their existing skills.

Both programs run two nights a week from July through November and involve 35 sessions totaling 105 hours of instruction from a team of instructors teaching the latest in design and technology.
