URI’s Feinstein Providence Campus hosting open house for Multimedia Certificate Program

KINGSTON, R.I. – Nov. 3, 2010 – Individuals looking to gain an edge using multimedia software in their businesses are invited to an information session at the University of Rhode Island’s Feinstein Providence Campus to learn about two multi-media certificate programs.

The Office of Special Program and Graduate Professional Center at the Feinstein Providence Campus is hosting the session Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 5 p.m. in Room 208.

“The open house gives people a chance to come in, talk to us and find out what we have to offer,” said John O’Leary, director for the Office of Special Programs and Graduate Professional Center. “These programs are ideal for those individuals who are comfortable with using technology at the professional level.”

Those attending the information session also will have a chance to visit a multi-media class while it is in session. Both the multi-media Track One and Track Two programs are approved for financial support from NetWork R.I. The first summer program is an introductory print media and web design certification program that provides technical instruction in the multimedia professions, including entertainment, publishing, education, marketing, corporate communication and more. There also is an advanced certificate program for individuals looking to refine and develop their existing skills.

Both programs run two nights a week from January through May and involve 35 sessions totaling 105 hours of instruction from a team of instructors teaching the latest in design and technology.
