URI women’s gymnastics club team to hold fund-raiser Jan. 18

KINGSTON, R.I. – January 7, 2010 – The University of Rhode Island women’s club gymnastics team will hold a fund-raiser to help pay for its trip to the club national championships at Texas State University in April.


The team will conduct a gymnastics clinic for children of all ages and abilities Jan. 18 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at New Generation Gymnastics Academy, 4 Frank Ave. in Kingston near the Kingston Train Station. Children are asked to come with a lunch or snack. The cost is $30 per child and $20 for each additional sibling in the same family. Participants will be grouped by age and ability.


All proceeds will benefit the URI club gymnastics team and will help fund its trip to the National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs national championships April 8 through 10 at Texas State University. Fund-raising covers expenses related to practice, coaches, meets, and travel all year.
