URI welcomes thousands back to school, Sept. 2-5

WHAT:          Move-In Weekend. A well-choreographed production to welcome the incoming class of about 3,250 new students and about 500 transfer students as they move into their rooms at one of the 24 residence halls on campus.

Members of the media are invited to capture this annual event and speak with some of the administrators and others on scene as the cars are emptied and hugs and tears are shared.

WHO:            The University of Rhode Island, students, parents and scores of staff members. President David M. Dooley, Student Affairs Vice President Kathy M. Collins and other administrators will be on hand to meet students and parents at a few locations. One-on-one interviews may be arranged upon request.

WHEN:         Saturday, Sept. 2, at about 10 a.m. or at 2 p.m. President Dooley will be available to speak with members of the media at these times at Hillside Hall. (Please call to schedule, 401-874-4500.)

WHERE:       Hillside Residence Hall, 140 Campus Avenue, Kingston. Parking will be available behind the Memorial Union. PLEASE NOTE: Most campus roadways will be one way only during Move-In 2017. Please follow the directions provided by staff on site.
