KINGSTON, R.I. — March 1, 1999 — Members of the University of Rhode Island community will be breaking out their URI hats, sweatshirts, and their athletic uniforms to celebrate Rhody Pride Day on Wednesday, March 10. A group of students called the “Pride Patrol,” designated by special shirts, will be looking for students and staff decked out in URI fashion. Numerous prizes will be given out to those spotted in Rhody attire. More than 150 prizes will be given away, including a 10 percent discount at the University Spirit (in the Emporium) if participants mention Rhody Pride Day at the time of purchase.
