The course consists of nine weekly classroom sessions beginning Feb. 27 from 4 to 6:30 p.m., and two six-hour Saturday field sessions on April 26 and May 3. Classroom sessions will take place at the Coastal Institute on URI’s Narragansett Bay Campus.
Among the topics to be covered are climate change, shifts in biodiversity, alteration of coastal ecosystems, and international concerns. Class projects include the development of inquiry-based activities. Students taking the class can receive three graduate credits.
The fee for the course is $595 per person, plus an additional $150 fee if requesting credit. Registration is required through the Narragansett Bay Classroom by calling 401-874-6211. Purchase of reading materials is required.
