URI to name Cooperative Extension center for former administrator

WHO: URI President Robert L. Carothers, Jeff Seemann, dean of the URI College of the Environment and Life Sciences, and CCRI Assistant to the President Dennis Moore, along with Master Gardeners and friends and family of the late Kathleen Mallon.


WHAT: URI will formally name its Cooperative Extension Education Center for Kathleen Mallon, the former director of the Center who later served in leadership roles at URI, the Community College of Rhode Island, and the R.I. Office of Higher Education. Formerly a Shannock resident, Mallon launched the URI Master Gardener program and served as director of URI’s strategic planning and institutional research and assistant to the president at CCRI.


WHEN: Thursday, November 6 at 11 a.m.


WHERE: The URI Botanical Garden, corner of Upper College Road and East Alumni Avenue on URI’s Kingston campus.
