URI to host job fair for green industry, Feb. 23rd

KINGSTON, R.I. – February 11, 2010 – Those interested in learning more about internship and career opportunities in landscaping, golf course management, horticulture, landscape architecture, nursery management and other agricultural and green industry disciplines are encouraged to attend the 2010 URI Green Industry Day: Networking, Jobs and State-of-the-Industry, which will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 23rd.


Free and open to the public, the event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the URI Memorial Union Ballroom, 50 Lower College Rd., Kingston. Advance registration is recommended through URI Career Services (401.874.2311 or career.uri.edu).


Dozens of companies representing the green industries will be on hand, and industry leaders will participate in panel discussions on such topics as “Owning a Green Business” and “Trends in the Green Industry.”


The event is sponsored by the URI College of the Environment and Life Sciences, and is being organized by industry professionals working with URI’s Departments of Plant Sciences and Landscape Architecture.
