URI to hold 63rd annual Federal Taxation Institute

KINGSTON, R.I. — November 6, 2006 — The University of Rhode Island is holding its 63rd annual Taxation Institute on Thursday Nov. 16 at 8 a.m.


The event will be held at the URI Feinstein Providence campus in the Paff Auditorium. Admission to the institution is $125 and includes various seminars, workshops, and lunch. The campus is located on Washington Street.


The URI Tax Institute teams up with professionals, including lawyers, accountants and insurance executives, who deal with tax questions in their practices. These professionals are provided with a chance to familiarize themselves with the latest tax forms, updates, modifications, or tweaked tax laws.


Topics discussed throughout the day include an individual tax update, a business tax update, ethics in tax practice, an overview of the IRS and an update on tax deferred exchanges.


Participants in the day-long program will receive eight professional continuing education credits that meet the requirements of their professional groups.
