URI Snowboard Club to hold ‘rail jam’ March 4

WHO: Sixty URI Snowboard Club members and competitors, 400 spectators through the course of the event


WHAT: URI Snowboard Club’s second annual rail jam, a competition in which snowboarders glide down a manmade slope and rails. Competitors and audience members are asked to donate canned food items for distribution to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Participants will compete for prizes donated by local ski, surf and skate shops. There will also be an opportunity for individuals to donate to the URI Haiti Relief Fund.


WHEN: Thursday, March 4, 2010, 5 to 10 p.m.
