URI ship R/V Endeavor to return July 29 from 4 ½ month research cruise to Brazil, Africa

Welcome home celebration at dock planned for 10 a.m.


WHO: The 13-member crew of the University of Rhode Island research ship R/V Endeavor, along with faculty, students and well-wishers.


WHAT: An informal welcome home celebration for the captain and crew of the Endeavor as they return from a 4 ½ month research expedition to Florida, Brazil and Namibia, one of the longest cruises the vessel has undertaken and its first to Africa. There will be no formal speaking program, however the captain, crew and science officer will be available for interviews.


WHEN: Wednesday, July 29. The ship is expected to arrive at the dock at about 10 a.m., and spectators will gather beginning at 9:30.


WHERE: The dock at the URI Bay Campus, South Ferry Road, Narragansett.
