Designed as an interactive career awareness opportunity, “Get Career Connected” will focus on networking and interviewing skills necessary to successfully compete in today’s marketplace. Participating students will meet with business leaders, two of whom are URI alumnae, in small-group settings to hone their networking and interviewing skills.
“We at the University recognize the importance of encouraging our students to implement their own career plan. Given this competitive marketplace, a student’s career development should include basic networking and interviewing skills,” said Regina Bell who teaches public relations at URI.
“We are honored URI alum and local business leader Kathy O’Donnell, senior vice president at Citizens Financial Group, will share both her passion for public affairs and her own career development,” said Robert Beagle, vice president of University Advancement.
The opportunity to interact with key business leaders in an informal venue gives students yet another positive learning experience. “I am looking forward to sharing with students my journey from URI’s campus to a successful career in public relations,” said O’Donnell, senior vice president, director of public affairs, Citizens Financial Group. Other speakers include URI alumna Ashley Gingerella, officer and public relations specialist at Citizens Financial Group; Mary Sadlier, executive vice president and chief strategy officer at (add)ventures and Gary Serby, vice president of Corporate Communications at Hasbro, Inc.
