URI professor says R.I. economy continues decline in April

WHAT: Rhode Island’s cyclical economic momentum has deteriorated noticeably. Not only was the March Current Conditions Index downgraded from 58 (barely expanding) to 50 (neutral), the April CCI was 42 – a contraction value. Sadly, the pattern revealed within the data is entirely consistent with such slowing. However, it is far too early at this point to contemplate the dreaded “R” word.
