KINGSTON, R.I. — August 4, 2011 — A late summer workshop on maintaining and designing a perennial garden using sustainable practices will be held on Thursday, Aug. 25, from 5-7.30 p.m. at the University of Rhode Island’s Coastal Institute Weaver Auditorium, Kingston Campus.
Led by URI’s Cooperative Extension Master Gardener State Coordinator Rosanne Sherry, the workshop is $25 per person, including refreshments and a light snack. Workshop participants will learn how to:
- -Plan a seasonal garden
- -Control weeds
- -Incorporate healthy gardening practices
- -Identify common pests
- -Schedule maintenance tasks
