URI names Regis College’s Adam Brown assistant dean of the Feinstein College of Education and Professional Studies

Providence, R.I., June 23, 2020 – The University of Rhode Island’s Feinstein College of Education and Professional Studies announced the appointment of Adam Brown to assistant dean for academic and student affairs, effective July 6.

In this role, Brown will lead the College’s Office of Academic and Student Affairs where he will pursue strategic organizational goals for the College, its schools, faculty, staff, and students. These duties include, managing and improving student recruiting, admission, enrollment, matriculation, retention, and persistence policy and practices.

“Adam demonstrates exceptional abilities in integrating a host of adaptive learning resources that have resulted in student successes,” said R. Anthony Rolle, dean of URI’s Feinstein College of Education and Profession Studies. “These proven skills will be especially useful as the College introduces its newest degree programs and improved curriculums.”

Brown comes to URI from Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts, where he served as the assistant dean of Academic Student Services; assisted in the oversight of academic advising, coaching, tutoring, and accessibility services; and directed projects designed to increase student retention supported by a $2.2 million Title III grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

Prior to joining Regis College, Brown managed off-campus programs at Rutgers University at Camden, New Jersey, where he increased student access to degree completion. He also managed student retention programs at State University of New York Purchase as director of the Advising and Learning Center, where he focused on issues of retention and student engagement.

Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a master’s degree in English from Boston College.
