URI men’s hockey team to host Junior Rams at final home game, Saturday, Feb. 13

KINGSTON, R.I. – February 11, 2016 – The University of Rhode Island men’s hockey team will celebrate its partnership with the Junior Rams youth hockey program during its last home game of the season, Saturday, Feb. 13 at 4 p.m. at the Boss Ice Arena on the Kingston Campus.

The Junior Rams will be recognized during the game.

Working together to unite and inspire athletes of all ages within the hockey community, University student-athletes will work with the Junior Rams at their practices during the remainder of the hockey season.

URI teammate Nathan Bastian talked about working with the youth league, saying, “It’s a great way to give back to the next generation of hockey players. I remember how much I enjoyed being on the ice with older players when I was their age, and to be able to pass that along is really rewarding.”

The Rhody men’s hockey team has 36 players on its roster from across the country and other countries that will work with the Junior Rams. While the Junior Rams practice at Boss Arena, URI hockey athletes will skate alongside them sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport.
