URI launches new Business Engagement Center as central portal for businesses

WHO: Gov. Lincoln D. Chafee, URI President David M. Dooley, Speaker of the House Gordon D. Fox, President of the Senate M. Teresa Paiva Weed, GTECH Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications Bob Vincent ‘75, and President of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce Laura White ‘81.


WHAT: The University of Rhode Island officially launches its new Business Engagement Center, a central portal for businesses to connect with the University’s vast resources. The Business Engagement Center is designed to play a vital role in providing businesses with sponsored research opportunities, technology or intellectual property transfer assistance, licensing information, students for internships or careers, and customized workforce training and skill development.


Invited corporate guests include representatives from Gilbane Inc., Washington Trust, Blue Cross, Hope Global, NsGene, Prometheus, Inc., Duffy and Shanley, Hinckley, Allen & Snyder LLP, among others.
