KINGSTON, R.I. – November 10, 2010 – The University of Rhode Island’s Landscape Architecture Lecture Series continues on Nov. 18 with a lecture by Gina Ford, principal of Sasaki Associates in Watertown, Mass., who will speak on “Recent Work: Cities, Rivers, Sites” at 7 p.m. in Weaver Auditorium in the Coastal Institute building on the URI Kingston campus.

The event is free and open to the public.

Ford’s expertise in landscape architectural design encompasses a wide range of scales and project types, from public parks and waterfronts to plazas and small institutional spaces. She brings to each project a passion for the process of making vibrant landscape spaces with a particular focus on the life and use of urban, public environments.

Her recent work includes the Center of Science and Industry in Columbus, Ohio, the Detroit Riverfront Park, Waterway Square at The Woodlands, Texas, and the 300-acre mixed-use development of National Harbor, Maryland. She has degrees in architecture and landscape architecture from Wellesley College and the Harvard Design School.
