URI helps students earn credit for the summer

Summer Session 2009


KINGSTON, R.I. — April 7, 2009 — Registration is now open for summer sessions at University of Rhode Island. More than 600 course sections are offered and classes will be held at the Kingston or Providence campus or online. And, the courses are offered at a substantial discount for the summer, running as low as $206 per credit.


Summer Sessions 2009 includes two, five-week sections and one 10-week session. Session 1 runs from May 18 to June 19, Session 2 runs from June 22 to July 24, and Session 3 runs from May 18 to July 24. Courses span a variety of subjects including many general education and prerequisite courses that students need to graduate and that incoming students may take to jumpstart their college coursework. There are also many programs for study abroad as well as independent study.


Housing is also available for those who want to stay on the Kingston campus, allowing them to earn credits while enjoying all that South County has to offer in the summer.
