Participants will explore the shoreline of Fort Getty in Jamestown, one of Rhode Island’s unique coastal beaches. The program gives young people an opportunity to have their questions answered about the plants, animals, and minerals found on the beach.
The dates for beachcombing are: Saturday July 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
The beachcombing events are free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, call the Office of Marine Programs at 874-6211. Additional information will be sent to registered participants via email.
