URI Feinstein Providence Campus to hold Open House, Dec. 3

WSNE-radio’s Joannie Edwards to host live broadcast at event


PROVIDENCE, R.I — November 21, 2005 — Planning to start a new course for the New Year? The University of Rhode Island’s Feinstein Providence Campus will hold an open house next month to showcase the many courses and programs of study available for continuing education students.


WSNE’s morning radio talk show host Joannie Edwards will be on board and broadcasting live at the event on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005 from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Providence Campus on 80 Washington Street.


The open house will provide first-time and returning adult students with an opportunity to meet with advisors, review the programs and course offerings and the full range of student services, and scholarships. For the spring semester, more than 300 undergraduate and graduate classes are offered at the Providence Campus and 48 are provided online.


Information about professional development, certificate and other programs will also be available during the session. A variety of non-credit certificate programs are offered in such areas as print-based multimedia, training and development, and leadership.


In addition, information about the on-site, pre-school and kindergarten education program will also be available.
