Starting in the fall of 2009, incoming in-state freshmen will have the choice to attend classes full-time for their first two years on the Feinstein Providence Campus as commuter students. With a reduced fee and free parking, there is a substantial savings for students interested in getting an education in an urban setting.
“The Providence campus has a student body with a wide diversity in age and experience, which many students find to their liking,” said Kathryn Quina, associate dean on URI’s Feinstein Providence Campus. “We are designed with an urban focus, which is something many students are looking for.”
The Providence campus is home to its own art gallery, library and the Biotechnology Certificate program, which provides students the opportunity to learn in state-of-the-art science laboratories.
At the Feinstein Providence Campus, students can complete the first two years of most degree programs URI has to offer. Some degrees can be completed entirely in Providence. With a reduced fee structure, free parking and learning communities in which students with like interests are grouped together in classes, the education setting offered by URI on the Feinstein Providence Campus fits the needs of many.
