URI economist says state closed out year on ‘downbeat note’

WHAT: Rhode Island closed out 2018 on a rather downbeat note. After beginning the year with fairly strong economic performances during several months, things noticeably deteriorated in the second half. In fact, the Current Conditions Index dropped from 67 in November to 50 in December. The December 2017 value was 83.
