URI economist says August arrived with bang

Current Conditions Index hits highest value in almost 3 years


WHAT: The Current Conditions Index for August surged all the way to 92, its highest value since December of 2012, as 11 of the 12 indicators improved. August was the sixth month for which the index matched or exceeded its year-earlier value, indicating that this recovery continues to become more broadly based.
