URI career advisor recognized for service by education organization

KINGSTON, R.I. – November 27, 2006 – University of Rhode Island career advisor Audrey Tessier received the “Outstanding Service Award” from the New England Association for Cooperative Education and Field Experience (NEACEFE) in October.


Tessier, a resident of Woonsocket, received the award for her length of service and contributions to the organization. She was specifically recognized for assuming the role of planning the 30th annual conference.


Tessier is the manager of employer services for URI’s Career Services office. Her responsibilities include managing and marketing all recruitment programs, including job fairs, on-campus interviews, network events, job postings, and the BEACON program. She has been a NEACEFE member since the early ‘90s and has previously served as its president. She is currently the organizations state director for Rhode Island.


She was chosen to receive this award through the NEACEFE’s nomination process. She was reviewed in regards to her contributions, leadership roles and additional achievements.


The NEACEFE is an association that promotes the development and expansion of experiential education programs within New England high schools, colleges, and universities, and the employers of their students. The association distributes a newsletter, membership directory and hosts several workshops addressing current education issues. It also holds an annual conference. This year’s conference was in Providence, where Tessier received her award.
