Ogletree to talk about race relations in the Age of Obama


WHO: Charles J. Ogletree, Jr., a Harvard law professor and mentor to President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.


WHAT: To launch black history month at URI, Ogletree will give a one-hour talk, “Post-Racial America in the Age of Obama.” Ogletree is an expert on criminal and civil rights legal issues. He taught the Obamas when they were students at Harvard Law School. Ogletree will also sign copies of his latest book, The Presumption of Guilt: The Arrest of Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and Race, Class and Crime in America.


WHEN: Tuesday, Feb. 5, 7 p.m.


WHERE: The Memorial Union ballroom at the University of Rhode Island, Kingston, R.I.
