Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo to sign cooperative learning agreement with University of Rhode Island



WHO: Franklin Garcia Fermin, president of the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo; City of Providence Mayor David N. Cicilline; University of Rhode Island Provost Donald DeHayes and URI Vice Provost of Urban Affairs John McCray.


WHAT: Fermin and Mayor Cicilline will visit URI’s Feinstein Providence Campus. While there, Fermin will sign an agreement between the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo and URI to develop and extend cooperative relations between the two universities. URI President David M. Dooley, who is unable to attend because he is out of the country, has already signed the agreement.


WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 5, 2:30 p.m.


WHERE: URI’s Feinstein Providence Campus, Room 242, 80 Washington St., Providence, R.I.


WHY: The agreement will help develop academic and cultural interchange between the institutions in education, research and other areas.
