KINGSTON, R.I. – July 28, 2008 – Join friends of the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy for a fun day of golf at the 15th Annual Louis A. Luzzi Seminar on the Links at North Kingstown’s Quidnessett Country Club, Monday, Sept. 8. The event, which is open to the public, includes lunch and dinner, as well as a raffle and silent auction. The fee for a single golfer is $175 and $700 per foursome.
The prize for a hole in one is $10,000 cash or use of a new car courtesy of Banner Buick – Pontiac – GMC –SAAB in South Kingstown, for two years,.
Event planners are also seeking sponsors for the following levels:
• Platinum, $10,000, which includes two foursomes, a tee sign and recognition in the program as well as on signs posted during lunch and dinner.
• Gold, $5,000, which includes one foursome, a tee sign and recognition in the program as well as on signs posted during lunch and dinner.
• Silver, $2,500, which includes fees for two golfers, a tee sign, recognition in the program as well as on signs posted during lunch.
• Bronze, $1,000, which includes a tee sign and recognition in the program and on a sign posted for lunch.

Prior to lunch will be the continuing education session, “What the FDA is Saying in 2008 about ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) and Drug Interactions” from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Roberta S. King, associate professor of pharmacy at the University of Rhode Island’s College of Pharmacy, will give the lecture.
The optional continuing education program will be of interest to pharmacists in hospital, community and managed care settings as well as those interested in the changing health care environment. The program is approved for one hour of continuing education credit for pharmacists.
