Summer Undergraduate Research Conference to highlight 100+ research projects by Rhode Island students, July 29

Event at URI includes students from 8 colleges in Rhode Island


WHO: More than 100 students from the University of Rhode Island, Rhode Island College, Brown University, Providence College, Roger Williams University, Salve Regina University, Bryant University, and the Community College of Rhode Island, along with faculty mentors and university administrators.


WHAT: The Rhode Island Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Conference is an exhibit of the results of more than 100 research projects conducted during the last 10 weeks by undergraduate students from throughout Rhode Island. Students will display posters illustrating their research and will be available to discuss their work on such topics as marine science, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences and biology. The research was funded through the EPSCoR (Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) program of the National Science Foundation and the INBRE (Idea Network of Biomedical Research Excellence) program of the National Institutes of Health.


WHEN: Friday, July 29 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Half of the student projects will be exhibited between 9:15 and 10:45, with the other half on display from 11 to 12:30.
