WHO: Lincoln Chafee, governor, Lorne Adrain, chairman of the Rhode Island Board of Governors for Higher Education, Ray M. DiPasquale, commissioner of higher education and president of the Community College of Rhode Island, David M. Dooley, URI president, Robert A. Weygand, URI vice president for Administration and Finance, Chip Yensan, assistant vice president for Student Affairs and director of the Department of Housing and Residential Life, and David Coates, student body president.

WHAT: Groundbreaking for Hillside Hall, which will be the most energy efficient residence hall on the University of Rhode Island campus. Targeted to house freshmen and sophomores, the facility will have a 429-bed capacity and cost $42 million. Construction will begin in a matter of days.

WHEN: Tuesday, May 10, 2011, 10 a.m.

WHERE: Speaking program will be held in Atrium 1 of the URI Memorial Union, 50 Lower College Road, with the groundbreaking ceremony to follow at the construction site.
