Snow Alert: All Classes at all campuses are canceled today

NOTICE: All Classes at all campuses are canceled today, Monday, March 2, 2009.

About class cancellation notifications:

When classes or major public events are canceled due to a snowstorm or other factors, the University uses the EmergencyAlert system to reach the more than 10,500 faculty, staff and students who have registered to receive the voice/text notices on their cell phones, PDAs or other digital devices.

Notices are also distributed through the URI voicemail system, posted on the following University telephone numbers, (401) 874-1000, 874-NEWS (874-6397) or 874-SNOW (874-7669), and posted on the URINEWS/URINEWSLINE listserves. The notice is also placed on the URI home page, www.uri.edu.

The notice is also issued to the major Rhode Island broadcast media.

Please do not call the URI Police Department emergency number regarding status of class cancellations.

To all those who have not yet signed up for the EmergencyAlert system, you are encouraged to register on eCampus. To register or to modify your subscription, visit eCampus. Any additions/changes will take about 48 hours to activate.
