Sen. Jack Reed to discuss ‘The Place of U.S. in the New Global Order’

Talk helps celebrate 50th year of URI’s Political Science Department


WHO: U.S. Senator Jack Reed, URI political science professors and 110 alumni and friends.


WHAT: Reed will speak on “The Place of the United States in the New Global Order.” A question –and-answer session will follow with political science professors and alumni. His presentation kicks off URI’s Political Science Department’s 50th anniversary celebration.


WHEN: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2011, promptly at 11:30 a.m.


WHERE: Swan Hall Auditorium, 60 Upper College Road, Kingston campus.


WHY: Reed was considered to be the perfect speaker at this time in history, with the United States fighting two wars, some European nations in serious financial crisis, the outcome of the Arab spring unknown, and America battling a serious budget and job crisis.
