WHO: Emma Stokes, a world-famous physical therapist from Ireland, will participate in a panel discussion about healthcare at the Statehouse. The talk will focus on patient empowerment and healthcare outcomes. A senior lecturer at Trinity College in Dublin and vice president of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy, Stokes speaks throughout the world about health and wellness and international healthcare issues. She has worked as a physical therapist for the last 20 years.
The other panelists are: Albert Charbonneau, executive director of the Rhode Island Business Group on Health; Christine Ferguson, director of HealthSource RI; Dr. Michael Fine, director of the Rhode Island Department of Health; and Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts. The moderator is Phillip Clarke, director of the Rhode Island Geriatric Education Center and URI Program in Gerontology. Clarke is also a professor in Human Development and Family Studies.
