Poet Tom Chandler to read works at URI

KINGSTON, R.I. – April 11, 2000 — Tom Chandler, recently designated as the next State Poet of Rhode Island, will read from his recent and published work at the URI University Club, Upper College Road, in Kingston, on Thursday, April 20 at 5 p.m. The public is cordially invited. Chandler currently holds an appointment in the English and Humanities Department at Bryant College and is the winner of numerous awards, including writing fellowships from Yaddo, the Millay Colony for the Arts and the Blue Mountain Center for the Arts, as well as the Galway Kinnell Poetry Prize.
