WHO: First Lady Stephanie Chafee, Karen Daley, president of the American Association of Nurses, Lynne Dunphy, Routhier Chair of Practice and professor of Nursing at the University of Rhode Island and director of the Rhode Island Center for Nursing Excellence; Patricia Burbank, URI professor of nursing, Pamela McCue, executive director of the state Board of Nursing, Brandon Melton, senior vice president at Lifespan and Donna Murray, administrator, labor market information at the state Department of Labor and Training.


WHAT: Nurses Day Celebration, including greetings from Chafee, a registered nurse, keynote speech by Daley on the “Impact of the Institute of Medicine’s Report on Future of Nursing,” panel discussion to follow. Sponsored by the Rhode Island State Nurses Association and the Rhode Island Center for Nursing Excellence.
