Open house about biotech manufacturing program at URI’s Feinstein Providence Campus

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — October 12, 2004 — The biotechnology manufacturing training program at the University of Rhode Island’s Alan Shawn Feinstein College of Continuing Education in Providence is now accepting applications for the Fall 2005 semester.

An open house and information session about the unique program will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. at URI’s Providence Campus on 80 Washington St.

The new Bachelor of Science Biotechnology Manufacturing Program features academic preparation for the growing biotech industry in a format that prepares students for employment after completing a one-year full-time program. After the first year, students may then choose to complete the program on a reduced-time basis. A new state-of-the-art biotechnology manufacturing lab at the Providence Campus is used for hands-on training.

Current students and program graduates include adult learners and those interested in career changes. Scholarships are available.
