Norwegian ambassador to visit URI Graduate School of Oceanography

WHAT: Norwegian Ambassador Kåre R. Aas will visit the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography on Wednesday, May 29. Norway is regarded as an international leader in ocean science with several top-tier oceanographic institutions and cutting-edge research vessels. URI President David M. Dooley will welcome the ambassador, and Dean Bruce Corliss will present an overview of GSO’s oceanographic research and education initiatives. The ambassador will also receive a tour of the Inner Space Center, where he will see real-time interactions between the E/V Nautilus and the Inner Space Center’s Mission Control as part of the NASA-led SUBSEA ocean and space exploration project.
