NEWS ADVISORY: URI, Cuban professors meet Monday, Sept. 28, to formalize study abroad program in Cuba

WHO: URI President David M. Dooley, Cuban professors and U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse to participate in signing of agreement between the Institute of Philosophy in Havana and URI for semester-long study abroad program in Cuba this spring.


WHAT: Signing of “memorandum of understanding” between URI and the Institute of Philosophy in Havana. In the study-abroad program from Feb. 1 through April 26, 2016 students will study Cuban history and politics, attend lectures and visit historic sites – all designed to make them global learners.


WHERE: Swan Hall, 60 Upper College Road, on the Kingston campus.


WHEN: Monday, Sept. 28, at noon.
