Motivational speaker Dennis Rahiim Watson to give talk at Providence school, May 31

WHO: Motivational speaker Dennis Rahiim, chair of the National Youth and Gang Violence Task Force and CEO of the Center for Black Student Achievement. Rahiim is a nationally acclaimed advocate for African-American youth nationwide.


WHAT: Rahiim will talk about his experience overcoming a troubled past to help African-American young people achieve in and out of the classroom. The talk is sponsored by URI’s College of Engineering; URI’s Office of Community, Equity and Diversity; and the Verizon Foundation.


WHEN: May 31, 2016, from 9 to 11 a.m.
