WHO: The George & Anne Ryan Institute for Neuroscience at URI is sponsoring the URI Brain Fair. The event is produced in collaboration with researchers, faculty and students from departments and colleges across the campus, including engineering, health sciences, pharmacy and music. Also participating are representatives from the Alzheimer’s Association of Rhode Island and the Association of Migraine Disorders.
WHAT: The URI Brain Fair, part of Brain Week Rhode Island, is an interactive, free, family-friendly event exploring brain science and health. Become immersed in the difficult sensory experience of a person with dementia through the virtual tour, “Take a Walk in Their Shoes;” discover how “smart textiles” are being used to help people with Parkinson’s Disease; learn how the brain responds to music and color; and find out what foods support brain health. These activities are just a few of what the URI Brain Fair will offer to those curious about brain science and health.
