Marine explorer Ballard to discuss his discovery of the Titanic in public lecture at URI, April 19

WHO: Marine explorer and University of Rhode Island Professor Robert Ballard, who discovered the sunken remains of the Titanic in 1985.


WHAT: The famed explorer will present a free public lecture about his discovery of the Titanic and his thoughts about its preservation. The program coincides with events worldwide honoring the 100th anniversary of the ship’s sinking.


WHEN: Thursday, April 19 at 7PM.


WHERE: The Ryan Center on the URI Kingston campus.
