KINGSTON, R.I. –October 22, 2007 – Marc Weber Tobias of the Investigative Law Offices, of Sioux Falls, S.D., will discuss “Locks, Safes and Security” on Oct. 26 at the University of Rhode Island Forensic Science Seminar Series.

The event will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Pastore Hall, 51 Lower College Road, Room 124 and is free and open to public.

One of the important topics he discussed at the Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners seminar included the topic of bumping of standard and high security pin tumbler locks. This method allows perpetrators to break into locks without any outward evidence of the entry. In addition, those with no skill, training or tools can open the world’s vast majority of pin tumbler locks in seconds.
