The University of Rhode Island is evacuating Independence Hall right now due to a reported potential bomb threat. People are advised to clear the area in and around Independence Hall.

The University has contacted the State Fire Marshall’s office and its Bomb squad is en route to the Kingston Campus.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Upper College Road is closed. Traffic is being re-routed and motorists are advised to find alternate routes.
