BUTTERFIELD RENOVATION PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:


• Employs state-of-the-art water conservation technology

• Features new energy-efficient equipment

• 75% of construction and demolition materials were recycled or salvaged

• Targeting LEED Silver Certification

• Lounge renovation creates space for academic and social activities

• Dining hall seating capacity increased from 350 to 560 seats

• Butterfield Hall is named after URI’s second president, Kenyon Leech Butterfield, who served from 1903–1906

• In the first five weeks after reopening, Butterfield served 6,000 pounds of chicken nuggets and 60,000 eggs

• Butterfield servers 700 burritos per day

• The new menu includes old favorites like homestyle entrees and cooked-to-order omelets, and new favorites like Fusion burritos

• New turbo ovens for faster toasted sandwiches
