The initiative is supported by The Language Flagship, an initiative of the Defense Language and National Security Education Office, in collaboration with the University of Rhode Island. Deborah A. Gist, Commissioner of the Rhode Island Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and URI President David M. Dooley, as well as several advocates from the corporate and public sectors, and alumni of bilingual education programs, will speak at the event.
