College of Business invites dozens of alumni and recruiters from 50 companies for Spring Career Day

KINGSTON, R.I. – Feb. 14, 2020 – The University of Rhode Island College of Business’ more than 2,000 undergraduates will get the chance Friday, Feb. 21, to fully focus on their career goals as recruiters from more than 50 companies and several dozen business alumni come to the Kingston Campus for Spring Career Day.

Starting with the morning’s keynote panel, Spring Career Day will be packed with great opportunities to discuss job hunting and business skills, learn the latest about different industries, network with business alumni and talk with representatives from companies such as CVS Health, EY, Amica Insurance Co., and IGT.

The keynote panel will feature a discussion on “How to Land a Job in 2020,” featuring panelists William Montone ’74, a senior vice president in human resources at Brooks Automation; Mike Lowenthal, head of university relations at Marsh & McLennan Companies, and Sheila Felice M.A. ’89, vice president of learning and organizational development at Navigant Credit Union. Kathleen Jackson, head of career development for the College of Business, will moderate the panel, which starts at 8:30 a.m. in Edwards Hall.

Hour-long, morning breakout panels will be held in Ballentine Hall. Starting at 10:15 a.m., students can take part in discussions on “Everything you need to know …” about numerous majors, such as accounting, entrepreneurship, supply chain, and international business. At 11:30 a.m., nine panels will focus on business skills discussions – such as “Branding Yourself,” “Standing Out in Your Field” and “Developing and Practicing Your Elevator Pitch.”

The career fair in the Memorial Union Ballroom will feature more than 50 employers. The event is open to freshmen and sophomores from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., and juniors and seniors from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
